Hope of Family successfully constructed 100 kitchen gardens for vulnerable FamiliesMay 14th, 2019

Hope of Family, the local NGO has achieved its target of constructing kitchen gardens for 100 families in Shyogwe Sector of Muhanga District IN THE Southern Province of Rwanda.
In Rwanda, "Kitchen Garden", known as 'akarima k’igikoni' in Kinyarwanda, is quite common because many households have discovered the amazing production got from well managed vegetable garden.
In the beginning 100 families benefited from the Kitchen garden initiated by Hope of Family and later those beneficiaries promised to replicate the initiative to other families who do not have them in Kabungo Village of Kinini Cell, Shyogwe Sector in Muhanga District.
It is a generally accepted rule in Rwanda that every household should have a kitchen garden to fight malnutrition. On the garden you will find various types of vegetables including cabbages, calottes, spinach, among others.
About Hope of Family
The primary goal of Hope of Family is to promote parental involvement in their children education while improving families’socio-economic status. Families and Hope of Family staff agree on the contract terms to sign in order to effectively support their children and raise their school performance. Parents agree to visit their children on the weekly basis, provide more after-school time for their revision, respond sooner to teacher’s or any other school leader’ invitation to discuss about the child’s learning.
