The best performing child is ISHIMWE Ivan Tresor, who scored 90% and is a first-year student at G.S. St. Etienne Shyogwe.

He said that what helped him succeed the academic year 2020/2021 were parents who helped him to revise the lessons adding that parental involvement in his education through regular visits at school also played a crucial role in his performance.

In general, children say that they are successful because of the variety of support they have received from Hope of Family which has helped them get school materials and other support provided for their better education.

According to the Executive Director of Hope of Family, Mr Mfateneza Emmanuel, “Hope of Family has come up with the idea to award children as one of the motivations for children's success at school.”

He added that this is also a call to encourage their parents to take an active part in the education of their children.

Hope of Family is a Non-Governmental Organization whose main focus is to alleviate families from poverty through Children’ Education.

Currently the Organization supports about 220 families in Shyogwe Sector of Muhanga District, the Southern Province of Rwanda.
