  • September 19th, 2021
About 120 new families in Shyogwe Sector, Muhanga District in the Southern Province of Rwanda have started to benefit from the Hope of Family’s Interventions that will help them to get out of extreme poverty while at the same time contributing to their Children’s education.

On September 17, 2021, Hope of Family donated communications equipment including solar powered radios and mobile phones to those 120 new families as part of the continuous effort that Hope of Family is making to improve the living conditions among the beneficiaries

The New families that received communications equipment live in Shyogwe sector, Kabungo and Nyakabingo villages in Kinini Cell, Muhanga District.

Hope of Family understands that access to communication and ICT facilities is an integral part of the whole interventions that seek to alleviate families from extreme poverty as well as supporting Child’s education as the main focus of the organization.

Mobile Phones and Radios have a paramount role to play in the organization’s beneficiaries' betterment and social transformation to eliminate poverty, ignorance, and inequality of opportunities.

According to Madeline Uwamahoro, Hope of Family Program Manager, “The radios provided will help family members listen to news and talk shows on various radio stations, while telephones will help parents to exchange information on time and monitor the learning of children by communicating with their teachers when necessary.”

The event was attended by the administration of the Kinini Cell.
