In a bid to assess the tangible impact of their contributions, MUNEZERO Divine, a Program Officer representing the Segal Family Foundation, paid a visit to Hope of Family NGO last week on March 1, 2024. This visit offered a firsthand glimpse into the programs and projects funded by the generous donations of the Segal Family Foundation.

Upon her arrival, Divine was warmly welcomed by the dedicated staff members of Hope of Family, who provided her with a concise overview of the organization's mission and initiatives. The visit was not merely a formality but an immersive experience, allowing Divine to delve into the depths of the programs and projects funded by their donations.The tour led Divine to various project sites in the field, where she had the privilege of meeting beneficiaries and witnessing the profound impact of their contributions. One notable highlight of the visit was Divine's interaction with a group of 15 children benefiting from a home-based Early Childhood Development (ECD) program supported by Hope of Family.Furthermore, Divine had a heartfelt conversation with Mr. Theophile HABIMANA, one of the beneficiaries of Hope of Family's interventions. HABIMANA shared his journey from extreme poverty to financial stability, attributing his transformation to the support received from Hope of Family. He expressed gratitude for the provision of school materials for his children, parental involvement training, and the establishment of savings groups that empowered him to start a small income-generating activity.

"I was in extreme poverty, my children didn't have school materials which made it difficult for them to attend class, and I was absolutely poor. Then after, Hope of Family came in and saved me," HABIMANA remarked. "They firstly gave our children hope by providing them with school materials, trained us on parental involvement in our children's education, and created savings groups where I am now able to access money and establish a small income-generating activity. Today, I have my small shop, and I have a future in my hand."

Expressing gratitude for the continuous support received from the Segal Family Foundation, Hope of Family's Executive Director, Mr. Nshuti Augustin Iyamuremye, emphasized the crucial role played by consistent contributions in sustaining the NGO's impactful activities.

The tour concluded with reflections on the visit and discussions on strategies to further enhance the effectiveness of the NGO's initiatives, ensuring continued positive outcomes for the community it serves.
